Digital Door lock- Samsung Ezon SHS 1320

it has come into my mind since homedec visit last month, Digital Door Lock. The price is high, that is why it stop my move.

Since that day, the lock aways appear in my dream, and finally i start to make my research, and below is the result i get

  • cannot be open by any technique ( only password, tumprint or access card), even you have a door smith.
  • auto lock up if you forgotten to lock it
  • trigger alarm if improper attempt access
  • no easy clone
  • no key needed
the above sounds really good, but the main reason for me to have one is because, i had tried lock myself between my wooden door and the grill, without any key with me. Haha, lucky that i was able to break in as my assisting lock are a low quality cheap handle with build in lock given by the developer.

Action is the most important right now. searching around internet (ebay, lelong, etc) Samsung Ezon attract my eyes the most, because it comes with touch pad screen, ellegant design and most important, the price is fairly acceptable.

i bought from a seller in ebay, but of cause, without going through ebay...haha...underground deal, with fair cheap price.

At one of the sunny morning, i got a parcel. well, that is my Samsung Ezon SHS1320. open it and WTF, all the manual are in Korean. it sure was delivered from Korea, and you know, can't get it in Malaysia yet.

No hard installation. I had DIY installed it and been using for few days, and the conclusion is... GOOD!!!!!!!

  1. Thanks for showing us this guide. Do you know of any kind of key that cannot be duplicated? I am looking for lock that uses such key as I think it would be cheaper alternative to digital lock. so far, I do not know one yet. Therefore I am looking at digital lock. Since you have research the market, is this the cheapest one? Does it operate by battery and how long will battery last? Is it easy to install yourself (especially for non-mechanical person) and does it work on all door width? Thank you very much.

  2. I know that some Korean digital locks self-unlock itself if temperature gets more than 60 C. What about this lock? This is the only thing which stops me from buying such lock because anyone with portable high temperature fan is able to unlock it.

  10. Hello!

Do you think this lock could handle a main exist door or would a burglar just crack it is a couple of minutes if he would bang really hard on the door?

  11. Just share my bad experience.I did buy one through ebay. i thought that can get cheaper price. End up i need to pay for the duty fee, import tax, my own transport drive down to KLIA and spend whole noon time to queue it. Worst is the package being opened and not sure can operate correctly or not.~sad

  12. Carlos, the backing plate is really thick and as long as you mount the bracket the bolt goes into securely enough it will be just the same security as a standard door lock.

  13. Hi,

Have you tried to integrate it with another system, like a video intercom? I bought one and i saw it came with a cable that can be plugged in to a port on the board, and i sent a 5v pulse on that cable and it opened the bolt. Have you tried it?

  14. Hi my friend has one and he said it's the best thing he ever bought, it was the Samsung Ezon SHS - 5230 (fingerprint version) very cool and convenient. He bought it from a UK company www.onetouchsecurityonline.co.uk said they were very helpful and also did the installation for him. I'm thinking of getting one for myself buy probably just the code one as it's a bit cheaper, although I do like the idea of the fingerprint. Who knows might get the fingerprint one, I'll treat myself for Xmas.

  16. This is a UK suppler that sells these Digital Door Locks. All there products come with english user manuals, unlike the ones that get purchased from abroad, and I think there prices are better too. They also supply Suprema Access Control systems which are the best in the market when it comes to Biometric Keyless Entry. Hope this helps if anyone is thinking of upgrading there security.

  21. Hi, I've recently installed a SHS-1321 model and it works perfectly except that the batteries does not last more than 5 days. Quite hard to believe as the manual mentioned battery life is about 10 months with an average of 10 uses per day. Does anyone experience such problem or I'm just the unlucky one with a bad unit?
